There is a good sentence decorating one of our men’s toilets in the company:
To own a bog brush
is a sign of richdom.
To use a bog brush
is a sign of culture.
My experience with public toilets indicates, that a richdom of culture does not count for much.

Now our German Minister of the Interior, Wolfgang Schäuble, not only is asking for stronger video control in public places and for combining police and secret service databases, but also asks for a tighter control of the Internet. All in view of the recent terrorism events in Germany. Are we moving towards Chinese circumstances where everything in the net is not only controlled but censored as well. Will he demand censorship at some time?

She is around 60, wearing a long skirt made of leather. Her hand bag really is a bag with long fringes. She is living not very far from her bar, just a block away. The bar style seems to have been developed at the same time as she was, definitely in the Sixties. Mostly it is quite empty just a few people hang around. But it is special, nearly every day there is live music performed. And they really push the program, they print small leaflets with it. She always has some with her, and when she buys her cigarettes at the petrol station in the morning, she hands out the program to everybody around, no matter where they come from.
But does it help? There still is lots of room in the pub.

What does the maker of these signs want to tell us? Men are not allowed to go at all, women and children only on the right hand side?

You are on a horse, galloping at a constant speed. On your right side is sharp drop off, and on your left side is an elephant traveling at the same speed as you. Directly in front of you is a galloping kangaroo and your horse is unable to overtake it. Behind you is a lion running at the same speed as you and the Kangaroo.
What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?
Get your drunk ass off the merry-go-round!

When Elisabeth and Börje take the car from Stockholm to Berlin, they usually use the ferry between Rostock and Gedser. They wanted to it this Monday as well, but the first boat with free places was at 23:00 h only. The shipping company therefore advised them to take the boat from Puttgarden to Rödby.
To help them planning the route I called a Route Planner in the Internet to have to trip from Berlin to Puttgarden calculated. And which route did they come up with? “Drive to Rostock, take the ferry to Gedser, go to Rödby and from there take the boat to Puttgarden.” Very useful!

The bicycle above, the picture being taken in June 2006 in St. Hedwig-Hospital in Berlin, gave me the idea to show pictures of bicycles in a loose series. The inscription on the parking sign means “Managing Board”.
To start with following is another picture from May 2005 in Valencia.
