In German media again and again you hear the same sentence over the last days and weeks: When will we finally have winter?
You would never hear it from me like that. Snow and frost might be wanted in the Alps and other mountainous areas, maybe even in the country, in these areas it may also be a touristic and economic necessity.

In a city like Berlin, a severe frost would only increase heating cost, snow would lead to slush and dirt sooner or later. Here one can really do without “real” winter. I am even of the opinion that it would be better to ask: When will we finally have spring?
