You just have to imagine: home again, jetlag nearly is gone and then this! 2 Apple laptops broken down… only my Dell is running… (Note: Not true, my Powerbook just needs a rest from time to time)and Axel was truely desperate… he even had to buy his train ticket from my computer… Well, we are here again, and all friends already have made appointments with us over the coming weekends upon my phone calls, the film about Canada has been burnt on DVD in spite of all obstacles and will be shown the first time on Wednesday, when my “boys”, Frank and Uwe from the Spinnrad, will be coming. Axel has made a good job on cuttuing, I think he has a good eye for motives and situations. Lara is with me again as well and we are completely happy in our appartment. Manu has wonderfully looked after the flowers and Smokie, the chaotic cat did not behave strangely for a minute, the first 2-liter bottle of Clamato is empty, and slowly normality is returning. Only the weather is not acting quite as it should, but hopefully we will be able to have some BBQ’s still this year. I admit that I am very lazy, but now I have to do more with the computer as extension of my favourite game was released and therefore I sit at the Dell more often… that meams at the web site as well.

I used the weekend to finish the DVD with holiday video. I know where it still could use some enhancements, but it is already quite good. Hanna really did like it.

After having lost the pictures due to a disk crash on my Powerbook, I wanted to load them down from Helga’s notebook (one day before the crash I had saved them on her computer). During transmission from her computer the screen went black everything stopped. So far I was not successful to revive it again. Only about 25 photos of more than a hundred had been transmitted. Technology does not want me to have my holiday pictures!

One should never use rest days to repair a computer, that can only go wrong. That is how it was last Wednesday. In the evening we went to dinner in a restaurant with marvelous food, especially seafood inspired by chinese cooking. If you ever come to Toronto, the “Whistling Oyster” can only be recommended.

Thursday we accompanied Sean to his practising with his band. As one member of the group was not there, I was allowed to join in. To not disturb too much however, I turned my amplifier down… I had a lot of fun and only increased my desire to buy an electric guitar, which I already had developed before. After practise we went for a beer in a pub called V.I.P. (Village Idiot Pub). One of the band members was an old acquaintance of Hanna’s and we talked until nearly midnight.

On Friday I made an attempt to have my computer repaired and visited the Apple Store in the Yorkdale Mall. The guys from the Genius Bar however could not help me and wanted to keep my Powerbook for repair. Hanna however found the store she loves, Cotton Ginny and bought three trousers there.

Friday we returned to Caledon East where we ended our holidays with doing nothing except eating. The combined luggage on the flight back weighed nearly 100 kg. Hanna had to bring 6 liters Clamato, a whole beef tenderloin and some bacon…

We safely landed in Berlin today and in the meantime I have restored my computer whose disk I managed to damage last week. However, restorage was based on a backup of 13/08, therefore I had to provisionally restore this page. The missing reports from last week will be added during the next days as will be the albums. Fortunately I had saved the pictures on Helga’s laptop.
